In the past two months, Mark and I have had more than our share of problem solving and character-building. I want my boring life back. At the end of April, I sprained my right ankle. I do this often. I have vertigo. Vertigo is orthopedically challenging. I have no idea when I wrench an ankle

Thursday is garbage day on our street. And, today, this Thursday, Mark is out of town. He’s due back tonight, but the garbage pickup will be long done by then. When we spoke last night, he said, “Just forget about it. It’s not that much. We can leave the garbage for another week.” Well, maybe

Shaina has learned something from her training for her Boston Marathon run. Here is her update: In my mom’s first blog post about my marathon training she mentioned that I would be taking a few steps, getting some feedback and deciding what to do next. She mentioned this in regard to my fundraising commitment, but

I had knee replacement surgery a week ago. I tore my left ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) 28 years ago, had experimental surgery to replace it 27 years ago–it seemed like a great idea at the time–and the repair failed at least 15 years ago. So I’ve been walking around without an ACL for a very

One of the problems with vertigo is that there is no safe place for me, except for sitting down. I flew to and from Denver last week. I don’t mind flying–flying is easy. It’s the getting on the plane that’s difficult. Walking down the jetway is difficult. Declines are difficult—I don’t know where down is.
